About MeHi, I’m Louis — I’m 19 and currently completing a four-year Degree Apprenticeship in Sports Business Management at Watford Football Club. I work full-time in the club’s commercial department while studying part-time at the University of Hertfordshire.I’m now a year into my apprenticeship journey and looking back, I can see just how tough it is to get your foot in the door - especially with apprenticeships becoming more competitive and harder to secure, year-on-year.
Why I Created This Guide & ServiceI built this guide to support people who are in the same position I was in not long ago – keen to land an apprenticeship but unsure of how or where to begin. It’s all based on my own experience, what’s worked for me and what I wish I’d known earlier. When I was 16–18, I knew I wanted to take the apprenticeship route - but there were plenty of obstacles that made it difficult to get started. Whether it was the lack of guidance, limited experience, or trying to balance everything alongside A-levels, it felt overwhelming.During my apprenticeship application journey, one thing I learnt that has stuck with me ever since is that to achieve, you can never do it alone. The turning point in the quality of my applications came when I asked for help and stopped keeping applications and preparation to myself. Now, I want to be that person who supports you through your journey.Since receiving my degree apprenticeship offer, I’ve realised how rewarding it is to earn while gaining hands-on experience and avoiding the fees that come with the traditional university route. I want to share what I’ve learned along the way, including the mistakes I wish I hadn't made, to help you achieve this special opportunity early in your career.
